Waterbury Symphony Orchestra Begins New Season




Cornucopia at Oldfield is proud to be the hospitality sponsor for the WSO, now celebrating its 75th anniversary. Lief Bjaland, the Musical Director will be staying with us the week before each performance. In addition, we will be offering a package for each performance that include two tickets for that weekend with a two night stay in the Admiral Aston or John Moseley rooms. The first performance of the 2012-2013 season is on September 29, 2012. The 75th Anniversary season, with a work from their very first program, Tchaikovsky's "Capriccio Italien." The performance continues with the Italian theme as we salute our founding Maestro: Mario DeCecco, with Respighi's "Roman Festivals." Alexander Beyer is the guest pianist for Mozart's "Piano Concerto no. 20. D minor." Who doesn't love a party? Please join stay for their 75th Birthday Bash immediately following the concert!   1. Happy birthday to the WSO. 75 years of ammazing productions is nothing to scoff at. What a great package; it would be nice to take in a show, and then perhaps chat it up with the musical director at breakfast the day after. Really nice.
